The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Atchison Phoenix (Atchison, KS) and the host Sumner Academy Sabres (Kansas City, KS), witnessed Atchison's football squad knock off Sumner Academy by a tally of 55-28.

The Phoenix (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Schlagle (Kansas City, KS). The Stallions go into the Meadowlark bout with a 1-2 record. In their last bout, Schlagle was topped by Highland Park (Topeka, KS), 36-18, in a league bout.
