Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA) boosters were happy Friday as they witnessed their football squad topple the visiting Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA), 28-6 in a league match.

The Pirates (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Columbus (Waterloo, IA). The Sailors enter the 1A District 4 match with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Columbus prevailed over Jesup (Jesup, IA), 35-18, in a league battle.

The Cougars now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Aplington-Parkersburg for a 1A District 4 battle on Friday, September 26. Sumner-Fredericksburg will play a Falcons team coming off a 25-7 league loss to Union (La Porte City, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 1-3.
