Illinois High School Football - Morton can't hold off Metamora

Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad nudge the host Morton Potters (Morton, IL), 43-40 in a league match.

The Redbirds (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Canton (Canton, IL). The Little Giants go into the Mid-Illini battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Canton was tipped by East Peoria (East Peoria, IL), 36-32, in a league battle.

The Potters now have a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Pekin for a Mid-Illini battle on Friday, September 26. Morton will play a Dragons team coming off a 34-7 league loss to Washington (Washington, IL). The Dragons record now stands at 1-3.
