The West Islip Lions football squad scored 28 points and limited the visiting Westhampton Beach Hurricanes to 17 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Smithtown West for a Section 11 Division II test on Friday, September 26. West Islip will face a team coming off a 28-7 non-league win over Hauppauge (Hauppauge, NY). The record now stands at 2-0.

The Hurricanes (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastport-South Manor (Manorville, NY). The Sharks go into the Section 11 Division III challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Eastport-South Manor toppled Harborfields (Greenlawn, NY), 31-14, in a league challenge.
