Lathrop Spartans (Lathrop, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting River Islands Riptide (Lathrop, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Livingston (Livingston, CA). The Wolves go into the test with a 4-3 record. In their last test, Livingston achieved victory over Central Valley (Ceres, CA), 2-0, in a league test.

The Riptide now own a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Turlock Christian for a test on Tuesday, September 23. River Islands will play a Eagles team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to El Capitan (Merced, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-9.
