In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Caney Cougars softball team scored a tight 6-0 win over the Smithville Braves.

The Cougars (8-3) will now prepare for their match against Quinton (Quinton, OK). The Savages come into the non-league match with a 16-11 record. In their last match, Quinton nipped Crowder (Crowder, OK), 15-3, in a non-league match.

Next, the Braves play the Wright City Lumberjax (Wright City, OK) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 20. Smithville will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Lumberjax enter the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Whitesboro (Whitesboro, OK).
