In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Natchitoches Central Chiefs volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Assumption Mustangs.

The Chiefs (17-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. John (Plaquemine, LA). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 3-7 record. In their last challenge, St. John edged West Feliciana (St. Francisville, LA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs play the Covington Lions (Covington, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 19. Assumption will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Central (Baton Rouge, LA).
