Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) and the host Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM), observed Magdalena's volleyball team top Carrizozo by a count of 3-0.
The Steers (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM). The Bears go into the non-league battle with a 4-5 record. In their last battle, Cloudcroft was defeated by Hagerman (Hagerman, NM), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
The Grizzlies now own a 0-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Animas for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 20. Carrizozo will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Hondo Valley (Hondo, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 2-6.
