In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Xavier Hawks volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Franklin Sabers.

The Hawks (18-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Slinger (Slinger, WI). The Owls enter the non-league challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Slinger tipped Whitefish Bay (Whitefish Bay, WI), 3-0, in a league test.

The Sabers now own a 6-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mukwonago for a non-league test on Friday, September 19. Franklin will face a Indians squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Kettle Moraine (Wales, WI). The Indians record now stands at 5-8.
