The Steers now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monahans for a non-league battle on Friday, September 9. Big Spring will play a Loboes squad coming off a 59-29 non-league loss to Andrews (Andrews, TX). The Loboes record now stands at 0-2.

Coming up next, the Westerners play the Levelland Lobos (Levelland, TX) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 8. Lubbock will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Lobos enter the battle with a 0-2 record after their 21-7 non-league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX).
