In Friday's non-league game, the Elizabeth Minutemen (Elizabeth, NJ) football team tipped the visiting Plainfield Cardinals (Plainfield, NJ), by a final score of 23-22.

The Minutemen (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Hunterdon Central (Flemington, NJ). The Red Devils come into the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Hunterdon Central got by Piscataway (Piscataway, NJ), 17-0, in a non-league game.
