In Friday's non-league game, the Fenwick Friars (Oak Park, IL) football team smashed the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), by a score of 42-6.
The Friars (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Providence Catholic (New Lenox, IL). The Celtics come into the CCL/ESCC - Orange game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Providence Catholic was ripped by Wheaton North (Wheaton, IL), 28-0, in a non-league game.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Rich Township for a Southland game on Friday, September 9. Thornwood will battle a Raptors team coming off a 30-20 non-league loss to Morgan Park (Chicago, IL). The Raptors record now stands at 0-2.
