Georgia High School Football - Monroe Area succumbs to Gainesville

September 2, 2022: Monroe, GA 30656

The Gainesville Red Elephants thwarted the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes football team by a count of 23-13 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Gainesville upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Red Elephants host Clarke Central (Athens, GA) to encounter the Gladiators in a non-league outing on Friday, September 9. The Gladiators go into the outing with a record of 1-1. Clarke Central lost 33-9 in their recent non-league outing against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA)

With the loss, Monroe Area moves to 1-2 on the season. The Purple hurricanes travel to Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, GA) to encounter the Wolverines in a non-league outing on Friday, September 9. The Wolverines go into the outing with a record of 2-0. Prince Avenue Christian won 49-14 in their recent non-league outing against Athens Academy (Athens, GA)
