In Friday's non-league game, the Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) football team smashed the visiting Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL), by a final score of 52-12.

The Silver Streaks (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Sterling (Sterling, IL). The Golden Warriors come into the Western Big 6 game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Sterling was trounced by St. Francis (Wheaton, IL), 35-27, in a non-league game.

The Wildcats now hold a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Crete-Monee for a Southland contest on Saturday, September 10. Thornton will play a Warriors squad coming off a 24-0 non-league win over Andrean (Merrillville, IN). The Warriors record now stands at 1-1.
