In Friday's league game, the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles (Beckley, WV) football team were victorious over the visiting Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV), by a score of 49-21.
The Flying Eagles (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV). The Panthers come into the Coalfield AA game with a 0-2 record.
The Spartans now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robert C. Byrd for a non-league game on Friday, September 9. Greenbrier East will battle a Eagles team coming off a 57-23 league win over Oak Glen (New Cumberland, WV). The Eagles record now stands at 1-1.
