North Carolina High School Football - Newton-Conover can't get by Hickory

September 2, 2022: Hickory, NC 28601

The Hickory Red Tornadoes held off the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils football team by a count of 35-28 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Hickory upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Red Tornadoes travel to East Lincoln (Denver, NC) to confront the Mustangs in a 3A West Conference 51 outing on Friday, September 16. The Mustangs go into the outing with a record of 3-0. East Lincoln won 27-0 in their recent non-league outing against Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC)

With the loss, Newton-Conover moves to 1-2 on the season. The Red devils host West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to confront the Warriors in a 2A West Conference 45 outing on Friday, September 16. The Warriors go into the outing with a record of 0-3. West Caldwell lost 60-14 in their recent non-league outing against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
