Alabama High School Football - Southern Academy held off by Pickens Academy

In Friday's non-league game, the Pickens Academy Pirates (Carrollton, AL) football team tipped the host Southern Academy Cougars (Greensboro, AL), by a final score of 34-28.

The Pirates (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Patrician Academy (Butler, AL). The Saints come into the AISA AA Region II game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Patrician Academy got by Banks Academy (Birmingham, AL), 35-7, in a league game.

The Cougars now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lowndes Academy for a AISA A Region I game on Friday, September 9. Southern Academy will battle a Rebels team coming off a 40-0 league win over Coosa Valley Academy (Harpersville, AL). The Rebels record now stands at 1-1.
