The Nixon Mustangs topped the host Zapata Hawks volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Friday's non-league test.
The Mustangs now have a 11-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rio Grande City for a 5A Region IV District 30 test on Saturday, September 10. Nixon will confront a Rattlers team coming off a 2-2 non-league Mission (Mission, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 3-7.
The Hawks (2-7) will now prepare for their test against La Feria (La Feria, TX). The Lions enter the 4A Region IV District 32 test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, La Feria was knocked off by Economedes (Edinburg, TX), 3-2, in a non-league test.
