The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the host Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), saw Mt. Vernon's volleyball squad beat Columbus by a tally of 2-0.
With the win, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 5-1 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Iowa City West (Iowa City, IA) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 2. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 1-1.
The Sailors now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Beckman for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 2. Columbus will play a Trailblazers squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Camanche (Camanche, IA). The Trailblazers record now stands at 3-2.
