With the win, Vinton-Shellsburg upgrades its record to 6-8 on the year. The Vikings host Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA) to play the Plainsmen in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 2. The Plainsmen go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Belle Plaine won 3-1 in their recent league bout against B-G-M (Brooklyn, IA)

The Tigers now own a 0-9 record. They play next when they host Lynnville-Sully for a South Iowa Cedar bout on Tuesday, September 5. Iowa Valley will play a Hawks squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Baxter (Baxter, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 4-2.
