In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Mt. Vernon Mustangs volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Ottumwa Bulldogs.
The Mustangs (5-1) will now prepare for their battle against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA). The Stormin' Pointers come into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record.
Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Hoover Huskies (Des Moines, IA) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 5. Ottumwa will attempt to advance on its 7-3 season record. The Huskies come into the battle with a 0-2 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Marshalltown (Marshalltown, IA).
