Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Licking Valley Panthers (Newark, OH) and the host River View Black Bears (Warsaw, OH), saw Licking Valley's soccer squad hold off River View by a score of 3-2.

The Panthers (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Lakewood (Hebron, OH). The Lancers enter the Licking County battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Lakewood was edged by Watkins Memorial (Pataskala, OH), 12-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Black Bears confront the John Glenn Little Muskies (New Concord, OH) in a Muskingum Valley battle, on Thursday, September 5. River View will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Little Muskies enter the battle with a 1-4 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville, OH).
