New Mexico High School Football - Rio Rancho loses to La Cueva

La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) boosters were happy Tuesday as they witnessed their football squad topple the visiting Rio Rancho Rams (Rio Rancho, NM), 35-18 in a non-league match.

The Bears (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM). The Matadors go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Sandia was topped by Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM), 53-0, in a non-league battle.

The Rams now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Eldorado for a non-league battle on Wednesday, September 10. Rio Rancho will confront a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 41-30 non-league win over Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
