Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Cupertino Pioneers (Cupertino, CA) and the host Mountain View Spartans (Mountain View, CA), observed Cupertino's volleyball team hold off Mountain View by a count of 2-1.

The Pioneers (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Monta Vista (Cupertino, CA). The Matadors enter the non-league battle with a 1-0 record.

The Spartans now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Los Gatos for a battle on Wednesday, September 10.
