Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) and the visiting Franklin Broncos (Franklin, VA), observed Lakeland's volleyball team hold off Franklin by a tally of 2-1.

The Cavaliers (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Oscar Smith was edged by Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Broncos now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northampton for a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. Franklin will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Broadwater Academy (Exmore, VA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-1.
