In Tuesday's non-league outing, the host Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars soccer squad scored a tight 3-0 victory over the Newark Academy Minutemen.
The Cougars (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against West Orange (West Orange, NJ). The Mountaineers go into the non-league outing with a 1-0 record. In their last test, West Orange edged West Essex (North Caldwell, NJ), 4-0, in a non-league test.
The Minutemen now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host West Essex for a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. Newark Academy will clash with a Knights team coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to West Orange (West Orange, NJ). The Knights record now stands at 0-1.
