Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Cascade Cougars (Cascade, IA) and the host Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA), observed Cascade's volleyball team hold off Hudson by a tally of 2-1.

The Cougars (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Calamus-Wheatland was tipped by Springville (Springville, IA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Pirates meet the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines (Dike, IA) in a non-league test, on Thursday, September 4. Hudson will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Wolverines go into the test with a 5-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Valley (West Des Moines, IA).
