Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Valley Christian Defenders (Cerritos, CA) and the host La Serna Lancers (Whittier, CA), observed Valley Christian's volleyball team top La Serna by a tally of 3-0.

The Defenders (12-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ontario Christian (Ontario, CA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 2-5 record.

Next, the Lancers meet the Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 4. La Serna will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Spartans enter the contest with a 2-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Gabrielino (San Gabriel, CA).
