With the win, Lufkin upgrades its record to 26-13 on the year. The Panthers travel to Huntsville (Huntsville, TX) to play the Hornets in a 5A Region II District 16 bout on Friday, September 23. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 20-15. Huntsville won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Madisonville (Madisonville, TX)

The Bulldogs now own a 17-13 record. They play next when they travel to Chapel Hill for a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Saturday, September 24.
