In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Wilcox County Patriots (Rochelle, GA) softball team triumphed over the visiting Marion County Eagles (Buena Vista, GA), by a count of 17-5.

The Patriots now sport a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host Wheeler County for a 1A D-II Region 4 challenge on Thursday, September 21. Wilcox County will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 14-0 non-league win over McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-6.

With the loss, Marion County drops to 13-10 on the year. The Eagles travel to Howard (Macon, GA) to play the Huskies in a non-league contest on Thursday, September 21. The Huskies come into the contest with a record of 10-6. Howard won 13-5 in their recent non-league contest against Rutland (Macon, GA)
