In Wednesday's non-league battle, the host Chicago Washington Patriots volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals.

The Patriots (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Westinghouse (Chicago, IL). The Warriors come into the Chicago Public Super battle with a 6-5 record. In their last battle, Westinghouse was edged by Whitney Young (Chicago, IL), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL) in a South Suburban battle, on Thursday, September 21. Blue Island Eisenhower will attempt to advance on its 2-10 season record. The Meteors come into the battle with a 7-8 record after their 2-0 league loss to Oak Forest (Oak Forest, IL).
