The Minerva Lions football squad scored 16 points and limited the visiting Aquinas Knights to 7 in the Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Branch for a Eastern Buckeye test on Friday, September 27. Minerva will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 48-13 non-league win over Howland (Warren, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 5-0.

With the defeat, Aquinas drops to 0-5 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Rootstown (Rootstown, OH) to meet the Rovers in a Portage Trail test on Friday, September 27. The Rovers come into the test with a record of 2-3. Rootstown won 34-6 in their recent non-league test against North (Akron, OH)
