Tennessee High School Football - Johnson County beat Ashe County

September 20, 2024: Mountain City, TN 37683

The Johnson County Longhorns football squad scored 49 points and limited the visiting Ashe County Huskies to 32 in the Longhorns non-league triumph on Friday.

The Longhorns now sport a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Gatlinburg-Pittman for a 3A Region 1 test on Friday, September 27. Johnson County will clash with a Highlanders squad coming off a 34-14 non-league loss to Fulton (Knoxville, TN). The Highlanders record now stands at 3-2.

With the defeat, Ashe County drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The Huskies host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to clash with the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, October 4. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 2-3. Alexander Central lost 42-10 in their recent non-league test against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC)
