The Nelson County Cardinals walloped the host Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers football team by a score of 59-18 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals face the Thomas Nelson Generals (Bardstown, KY) in a 4A District 2 challenge, on Friday, September 27. Nelson County will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Generals enter the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 40-7 non-league loss to Marion County (Lebanon, KY).

The Fighting Tigers (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against John Hardin (Elizabethtown, KY). The Bulldogs enter the 4A District 2 challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, John Hardin bounced Kentucky Country Day (Louisville, KY), 32-9, in a non-league challenge.
