The Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings edged the visiting Independence Mustangs football team by a score of 21-14 in Friday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Vikings face the Mason City Mohawks (Mason City, IA) in a 4A District 2 challenge, on Friday, September 27. Decorah-North Winneshiek will attempt to improve on its 4-0 season record. The Mohawks enter the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 49-14 non-league win over Charles City (Charles City, IA).
The Mustangs (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA). The enter the 3A District 3 challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Central DeWitt held off Clinton (Clinton, IA), 56-14, in a non-league challenge.
