Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Muscatine Muskies (Muscatine, IA), 38-14 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Hempstead advances its record to 3-1 on the season. The Mustangs host Bettendorf (Bettendorf, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a 5A Group 3 battle on Friday, September 27. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 4-0. Bettendorf won 27-24 in their recent non-league battle against Linn-Mar (Marion, IA)

The Muskies now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Davenport West for a 5A Group 5 battle on Thursday, September 26. Muscatine will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Davenport Central (Davenport, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 0-4.
