The Independence 76ers edged the visiting Mt. Pleasant Cardinals football team by a score of 25-24 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the 76ers face the Prospect Panthers (Saratoga, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 26. Independence will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 36-23 non-league win over Mt. Pleasant (San Jose, CA).

The Cardinals (0-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Gunderson (San Jose, CA). The Grizzlies enter the West Valley challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Gunderson held off Oak Grove (San Jose, CA), 29-21, in a non-league challenge.
