Colorado High School Softball - Discovery Canyon bounces La Junta

September 20, 2024: Colorado Springs, CO 80921

The Discovery Canyon Thunder softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting La Junta Tigers to 2 in the Thunder non-league win on Friday.

The Thunder now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lewis-Palmer for a 4A Pikes Peak battle on Monday, September 23. Discovery Canyon will confront a Rangers team coming off a 17-2 league loss to Lutheran (Parker, CO). The Rangers record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, La Junta moves to 8-8 on the season. The Tigers travel to Southeast Colorado (Wiley, CO) to confront the Angels in a 3A Tri Peaks I battle on Tuesday, September 24. The Angels come into the battle with a record of 7-3. Southeast Colorado won 5-1 in their recent league battle against Lamar (Lamar, CO)
