The Goodrich Hornets volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting Spurger Pirates to 1 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now have a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Chester for a 1A Region IV District 26 outing on Friday, September 27. Goodrich will play a Yellowjackets team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Warren (Warren, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 27-9.

With the loss, Spurger drops to 7-8 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Apple Springs (Apple Springs, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 24. The Eagles come into the outing with a record of 7-6. Apple Springs won 3-2 in their recent non-league outing against Trinity (Trinity, TX)
