The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds held off the host Beechwood Tigers soccer team by a tally of 1-0 in Saturday's non-league game.
Next, the Thoroughbreds clash with the Campbell County Camels (Alexandria, KY) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, September 23. Newport Central Catholic will attempt to advance on its 4-8 season record. The Camels come into the game with a 6-6 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Pendleton County (Falmouth, KY).
The Tigers (6-6) will now prepare for their bout against Scott (Covington, KY). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 9-4 record. In their last bout, Scott got by Walton-Verona (Walton, KY), 6-0, in a non-league bout.
