Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the visiting Fremont-Mills Knights (Tabor, IA), observed Mt. Vernon's volleyball team hold off Fremont-Mills by a tally of 2-1.

The Mustangs (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA). The Stormin' Pointers enter the non-league contest with a 15-7 record. In their last contest, Center Point-Urbana got by Van Meter (Van Meter, IA), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Knights now own a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Mills for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 23. Fremont-Mills will encounter a squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, IA). The record now stands at 18-3.
