In Saturday's non-league match, the Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) volleyball squad tipped the host Petersburg Vikings (Petersburg, WV), by a count of 2-1.
In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Hampshire Trojans (Romney, WV) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 20. Independence will attempt to improve on its 9-9 season record. The Trojans go into the battle with a 6-4 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to East Hardy (Baker, WV).
The Vikings now own a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clay-Battelle for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 23. Petersburg will encounter a Cee-Bees squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Magnolia (New Martinsville, WV). The Cee-Bees record now stands at 11-6.
