The Mt. Zion Braves volleyball squad (Mt. Zion, IL), was edged 2-1 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Shelbyville Rams (Shelbyville, IL)

With the win, Shelbyville moves its record to 12-5 on the year. The Rams travel to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL) to battle the Griffins in a non-league battle on Saturday, September 20. The Griffins go into the battle with a record of 13-3. Father McGivney Catholic won 2-0 in their recent league battle against Christ Our Rock Lutheran (Centralia, IL)

The Braves now own a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Taylorville for a Apollo battle on Tuesday, September 23. Mt. Zion will meet a Tornadoes team coming off a 2-0 league win over Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 15-2.
