Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Chargers confront the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, September 26. Albuquerque Academy will attempt to better on its 6-4 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).

The Matadors now have a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Hobbs for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 23. Sandia will confront a Eagles team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 10-0.
