Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Gull Lake Blue Devils (Richland, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - East challenge, on Tuesday, September 26. Lakeview will attempt to better on its 14-1 season record. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a 11-1 record after their 4-2 non-league win over St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI).

The Wildcats now have a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lakeshore for a Southwestern Michigan - West challenge on Tuesday, September 26. Mattawan will confront a Lancers team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI). The Lancers record now stands at 5-7.
