Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Falls City Tigers (Falls City, NE), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Irish now own a 11-11 record. They take the field next when they host Savannah for a Class 3 District 16 challenge on Thursday, September 28.

With the loss, Falls City falls to 3-15 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Auburn (Auburn, NE) to battle the Bulldogs in a C District 1 challenge on Saturday, September 23. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 12-4. Auburn won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Syracuse (Syracuse, NE)
