Ohio High School Football - Anderson trounces Kings

In Saturday's league match, the visiting Anderson Raptors football squad scored a decisive 50-7 triumph over the Kings Knights.
The Raptors (5-0) will now prepare for their match against Milford (Milford, OH). The Eagles go into the bout with a 2-0 record.
The Knights now own a 0-1 record.
First Quarter
Anderson received the ball first and quickly marched down the field on the opening drive. The series culminated in a passing touchdown for the Raptors, but the two-point conversion rush was held out of the end zone and Anderson held a 6-0 lead. Kings punted on its first drive with three minutes to go in the first quarter, and the Raptors got the ball back deep inside their own territory. Luke Pastura carried the ball all the way down to the Kings 19 on a handful of runs, and the first quarter ended with Anderson in scoring position and holding a 6-0 lead.
Second Quarter
With nine minutes remaining in the first half, the Raptors were able to punch the ball into the end zone via the ground game to go up 12-0. The two-point rush was converted, and Anderson stretched its lead to 14. On the ensuing drive, Kings' #6 connected with #13 on a 45-yard touchdown pass and the Knights made the PAT to cut the Raptor lead to seven at 14-7. After a lengthy Anderson drive, Luke Pastura exploded for a 42-yard rushing touchdown and Grant Fyffe completed a pass to Jah'aire Lovett to restore the two-score lead at 22-7 with four minutes left in the half. The Knights were forced to punt on their next drive, and the Raptors took full advantage as Daniel Weinle blocked the Kings punt in Knight territory. With just over two minutes until halftime, Fyffe once again found Lovett for a 15-yard touchdown to extend Anderson's lead. The quarterback then connected with Trey Younger III on the 2-point try to make it 30-7. Kings failed to muster points on the last drive of the half.
Third Quarter
Kings received the ball first to begin the second half, and a long run by #30 moved the ball to near-midfield. However, the Knight quarterback was picked off by Anderson's Cooper Snider at the Kings 49-yard line. After a Knights sack, Grant Fyffe connected with Kaleed Bennett on a long pass and then Fyffe ran it himself for another substantial gain. With six minutes to go, Pastura ran for a 16-yard Raptors touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good, and Anderson's lead held at 36-7. Back-to-back sacks by Anderson's Jon Turner and Daniel Weinle forced the Knights to punt once again, and the Raptors capitalized once more with another Pastura rushing touchdown from 52 yards out. The passing attempt on the conversion was no good. With less than a minute remaining in the quarter, Daniel Weinle recovered a Kings fumble in Anderson territory. The Raptors emerged from the third quarter with possession and a hefty 42-7 lead.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter opened with another long pass from Fyffe to Cooper Snider which put the ball in the red zone. With eight minutes left in the game, Fyffe found Liam Moran for a 20-yard touchdown. Nick Horsley ran for a two-point conversion to extend the lead to 43 at 50-7. The Knights put together a solid final drive and got the ball all the way across midfield, but ultimately ran out of time and did not come away with points before the final whistle blew. The Freshman Raptors kept on keeping on, winning their ninth consecutive game dating back to September 2023.
