Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM), saw West Mesa's soccer squad triumph over Valley by a count of 8-1.

The Mustangs (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM). The Bulldogs enter the 5A District 5 battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Albuquerque tipped Cibola (Albuquerque, NM), 7-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Vikings battle the Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 battle, on Tuesday, September 24. Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Chargers enter the battle with a 7-3 record after their 2-2 non-league La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM).
