In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host La Joya Coyotes volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Grulla Gators.

The Coyotes (9-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Juan Diego Academy (Mission, TX). The enter the non-league challenge with a 7-12 record.

Next, the Gators meet the Jubilee Brownsville Titans (Brownsville, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, September 24. Grulla will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Titans enter the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Harvest Christian (Edinburg, TX).
