In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Herndon Hornets volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Tallwood Lions.

The Hornets (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Annandale (Annandale, VA). The Atoms enter the non-league challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Annandale was beaten by Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology (Alexandria, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Cox Falcons (Virginia Beach, VA) in a Beach challenge, on Tuesday, September 24. Tallwood will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Falcons enter the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, VA).
